The project area of 7300 ha consists of two parts: the Táborfalva Military Shooting Range and Training Area, and the Dabas Turjános Nature Conservation Area. The shooting range of Táborfalva is close to Budapest, situated south-east of the city, almost at the centre of the country. It is one of the largest Hungarian military areas in Hungary with its 9 000 ha.
The southern part of the Turjánvidék Natura 2000 area comprises the nationally protected Dabas Turjános Nature Conservation Area and the central and southern parts of the Táborfalva Military Shooting Range and Training Area, which are rich in natural values. The size of the area is approximately 146 ha.
